Frequently Asked Questions

1 How do I add products to my inventory?

Go to the Inventory tab, tap the + button, and fill in the product details. You can add photos from your camera or library, and scan the barcode for quick identification.

2 Can I scan barcodes to add products?

Yes! When adding a product, tap the barcode icon to scan. You can also scan barcodes during checkout to quickly add items to the cart, or from the Inventory search bar to look up an existing product.

3 How does iCloud sync work?

Enable iCloud in Settings. Your data syncs automatically to your personal iCloud account and is available on all your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. We never have access to your data.

4 Can I print receipts?

Yes! After completing a sale, you can print receipts via AirPrint to any compatible printer, or share them as PDF via email, messages, or any other app.

5 Does the app work without internet?

SellStock works 100% offline. All data is stored locally on your device. Internet is only needed if you enable iCloud sync to sync between devices.

6 How do I manage multiple businesses?

Go to Settings > Businesses to create and switch between different businesses. Each business has its own inventory, customers, suppliers and sales history.

7 Can I sell on credit ("fiar")?

Yes. In checkout switch to Split mode and tap "Leave $X on credit" — the sale is recorded with an outstanding balance. From Sales → Accounts Receivable you can collect payments later, partial or full.

8 How do I issue a refund?

Open the sale from Sales History and tap "Refund items". Pick how many units of each line to return — stock is restored automatically and the sale is marked as partially or fully refunded.

9 How do I export a full backup?

Settings → Data Management → "Export full backup" creates a .sellstock file with everything inside (products, sales, images, suppliers). You can save it anywhere and restore it later from the same screen.

10 Can I receive a purchase from a supplier?

Inventory → Purchase orders → New order. Pick the supplier (or create one on the spot), add products with quantity and unit cost, and tap "Receive now". Stock and cost prices update in one transaction.
